Pyramids of Egypt handed RS Berkane a heavy 3-0 defeat on Sunday evening at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo, in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.

The home side started strongly and quickly took control of the game, putting the Moroccan visitors under constant pressure and limiting their attacking chances.

Pyramids made their dominance count before the break, going into half-time with a clear advantage after finding the net twice and leaving RS Berkane with a difficult task in the second half.

After the restart, RS Berkane tried to react and get back into the tie, but Pyramids stayed organised and continued to threaten on the counter.

The Egyptian team later added a third goal to complete a convincing 3-0 win and tighten their grip on qualification ahead of the return leg.

RS Berkane will now need a big response in the second leg to keep their CAF Champions League hopes alive.
