Enzo Fernandez says Chelsea have been given “freedom to express ourselves” under Liam Rosenior, with the midfielder explaining how the new head coach has changed the mood and style at Stamford Bridge since replacing Enzo Maresca.
Fernandez revealed that Rosenior has encouraged players to take responsibility on the pitch and play with fewer restrictions, believing that approach has helped the squad feel more confident in games. The Argentina international stressed that Chelsea are now trying to be more direct in their play, while still keeping control of matches.
“Freedom to express ourselves,” Fernandez said, describing what has stood out most since Rosenior’s arrival and the shift away from Maresca’s methods.
The midfielder also spoke about the way Rosenior has worked with the group on a daily basis, insisting the message has been clear and simple. Fernandez suggested the squad have responded well because it allows them to show their qualities, particularly in the attacking third, and to play with more belief.
Rosenior was appointed after Maresca’s exit, and Fernandez admitted the change on the touchline has brought a fresh energy. He added that the players are focused on maintaining that momentum and delivering the results expected of them as the season continues.
