Chelsea legend John Terry has taken a swipe at Arsenal after their Carabao Cup semi-final win over the Blues, accusing Mikel Arteta’s players of “celebrating far too much” and reminding them: “It’s not the Champions League final.”

Arsenal’s victory sealed their place in the Carabao Cup final, and the scenes that followed drew a pointed response from Terry, who questioned the level of emotion shown for a semi-final success.

“It’s not the Champions League final,” Terry said, insisting the reaction from Arsenal’s squad was over the top for the stage of the competition. He added that the players were “celebrating far too much” after the result.

The former Chelsea captain’s comments have sparked debate online, with Arsenal fans defending their right to enjoy a big win over a rival, while others agreed with Terry’s view that the focus should quickly shift to the final.

Arsenal will now prepare for the Carabao Cup final, while Chelsea are left to regroup after being knocked out at the semi-final stage.
