Arne Slot has urged Liverpool to start scoring more goals, admitting it “would be nice if we started scoring more goals” as he called on his forwards to be more ruthless in front of goal.
Speaking in his press conference, Slot said Liverpool are doing plenty right but still need to turn their good work into more goals to avoid making games harder than they need to be. He stressed that being more clinical would “make it more simple for ourselves”.
The Liverpool boss made it clear he wants improvement in the final third, with his side creating opportunities but not always taking them. Slot’s message was that better finishing would change the feel of matches and allow Liverpool to control games with more comfort.
Slot’s comments come with Liverpool still looking for extra sharpness from their attacking players, and he used the media briefing to underline that adding goals is the next step for his team.
