Marseille are set for a major internal reshuffle after the club’s owner confirmed Medhi Benatia will remain in his role, despite having announced his resignation.
Benatia, the former Morocco defender, had indicated he would step down, but that decision has now been reversed. The owner has revealed Benatia will stay on and will be tasked with selecting the successor to Roberto De Zerbi.
It has also been confirmed that club president Pablo Longoria has been sidelined as part of the shake-up, with key sporting decisions now moving away from his direct control.
The developments come at a significant moment for Marseille, with the club preparing changes at the top while planning the next steps for the first team. With De Zerbi’s successor now a priority, Benatia is set to play a central role in shaping the next phase of the project.
