A CAF official has admitted that Morocco were subjected to a “major injustice” in a past decision, saying the continent’s football leadership must be honest about what happened.
In remarks that have reignited debate among fans, the official stressed that CAF should acknowledge the mistake and its impact, noting that Morocco paid a heavy price as a result.
The CAF figure said the issue is not about reopening old battles as much as it is about recognising the truth and restoring confidence in African football’s decision-making. The official added that admitting errors is necessary if the organisation wants to move forward and avoid repeating similar situations.
The comments were widely viewed as a rare public concession from inside CAF, with the official effectively revealing that Morocco’s case was handled unfairly and that the scale of the injustice was significant.
