Algerian analyst Bousmina has fiercely criticised what he described as a “conspiracy theory” narrative after Algeria’s elimination against Nigeria, insisting the exit had football reasons and should not be blamed on external factors.
Speaking after the match, Bousmina rejected attempts to explain the defeat through refereeing or targeting, stressing that Algeria did not do enough on the pitch to deserve qualification.
He pointed to the team’s struggles in key moments and said the performance failed to match the level required in knockout football, adding that focusing on claims of a plot only distracts from the real issues that need fixing.
Bousmina also used a striking line to underline his view, saying: “By God’s help, we didn’t concede a historic result.” For him, the priority now is an honest assessment and clear accountability, rather than searching for excuses after the loss to Nigeria.
He concluded that Algeria must learn from the elimination and rebuild on technical and tactical foundations, warning that repeating the same explanations after every setback will only prolong the crisis.
