Allan Saint-Maximin has left Club América after his short spell in Mexico ended amid allegations of racist abuse aimed at his daughters.
The winger said his family had been targeted, and he used a social media statement to address the situation directly.
“Hatred and discrimination have no place in our society,” Saint-Maximin wrote, as he spoke about the comments he says were made toward his children.
Club América have now confirmed his departure, bringing his time at the club to a close. The Frenchman is no longer part of the squad, with both parties moving on after the episode.
Saint-Maximin’s message focused on protecting his family and condemning racism, as he stressed that such behaviour should never be accepted.
His exit draws an abrupt end to his time in Liga MX, with the racism claims and his public response shaping the final days of his stay at América.
