Arsenal have tied down teenage prospect Max Dowman after agreeing pre-contract terms with the highly-rated 16-year-old.
Dowman, who has been on the club’s radar for some time, has decided to stay in north London and continue his development at the team he has supported since childhood. The move is a clear sign of Arsenal’s intent to keep their best young talent in-house as they plan for the future.
The 16-year-old has also pointed to three role models who helped shape his decision to remain at the Emirates, naming Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Ethan Nwaneri as players whose example convinced him he could make the next step at Arsenal.
Dowman’s agreement is another boost for the club’s academy pathway, with Arsenal continuing to highlight opportunities for young players to earn chances at senior level.
