Chelsea bomb squad member joins London rivals on deadline day

The final member of Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea “bomb squad” has completed a deadline-day move to a London rival, bringing an end to the club’s late-window clear-out.

Chelsea have been working to trim their squad and shift a number of unwanted players before the transfer deadline, with several names left training away from the main group as decisions were taken on their futures.

That list has now been fully resolved after the last remaining player from the group sealed a switch across the capital on deadline day, ensuring all those earmarked to leave have now found a new club.

The deal means Maresca heads into the new season with a streamlined group, after Chelsea spent the final hours of the window completing exits and finalising paperwork before the deadline passed.

With the move confirmed, Chelsea’s focus now turns fully to results on the pitch, while their London rivals add another option to their squad following the late addition.
