Conor Coady has cut short his time at Wrexham after completing a move to Charlton, just six months on from joining the Red Dragons in a £2m transfer.
The former Premier League defender only arrived in north Wales earlier this season, with Wrexham sealing a headline-grabbing deal to bring him in for a reported £2m. However, Coady will not see out the campaign at the Racecourse Ground, with Charlton now confirming his signing.
Coady’s switch brings an abrupt end to a short spell with Wrexham, where his arrival had been viewed as a major statement of intent. Instead, the experienced centre-back is heading to The Valley midway through the season, leaving Phil Parkinson to reshuffle his defensive options.
The move means Coady becomes Charlton’s latest addition as the club looks to strengthen its squad, while Wrexham will have to move on quickly after losing one of their highest-profile recruits.
