Former Chelsea defender David Luiz has shown he has not forgotten his links with Stamford Bridge, delivering gifts to a current Blues player and a long-serving member of staff in a warm gesture.
Luiz, who now plays for Pafos, sent presents to Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella and to club staff member Paul Cann, who is widely known around the first team set-up as “Canners”.
Cann shared the moment on social media, revealing that the package had come from Luiz and posting a message of thanks. “God bless you!” he wrote, as he acknowledged the ex-Chelsea centre-back’s kindness.
Luiz spent two spells at Chelsea and remains a popular figure among supporters, having been part of squads that won major honours during his time in west London.
Now continuing his career in Cyprus with Pafos, the Brazilian has stayed in touch with people at his former club, with this latest delivery underlining the relationships he built during his years in the Premier League.
