Gianluigi Donnarumma was targeted by a Sunderland player on social media after a heated incident involving Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson at full-time, with Pep Guardiola later stepping in to calm the situation.
Tempers flared after the final whistle when Ederson reportedly “ran the length of the pitch” towards Donnarumma, sparking a post-match bust-up that drew players from both sides into an angry exchange.
Guardiola was seen acting as peacemaker as the confrontation threatened to boil over, moving in to separate those involved and restore order amid the chaos.
The clash did not end there. In a moment later revealed online, a Sunderland player brutally trolled Donnarumma with a post aimed at the PSG goalkeeper, referencing the flashpoint and adding fuel to the fallout from the bust-up.
The incident has since caused plenty of reaction, with the images from the post-match scenes and the subsequent online dig ensuring Donnarumma and Ederson remain at the centre of attention.
