Endrick has revealed that Carlo Ancelotti advised him to leave Real Madrid, with the teenager explaining the manager’s role in his decision after completing a loan move to Lyon.
The Brazilian forward, who arrived in Spain with huge expectations, said he held a direct conversation with Ancelotti about what would be best for his development. Endrick confirmed that the Real Madrid coach urged him to go out on loan in search of regular minutes rather than remain in Madrid with limited opportunities.
Endrick has now sealed a temporary switch to Lyon and outlined why he chose the French club. He said the project on offer and the chance to play consistently were key factors behind the move, as he looks to take the next step in Europe.
In the same interview, Endrick made it clear the decision was taken with his long-term future at Real Madrid in mind. He stressed that the aim is to return better prepared, with more match experience, after a period of playing week in, week out.
The loan move represents a fresh chapter for Endrick, who will now try to establish himself in Ligue 1 and show the progress Real Madrid want to see. With Ancelotti’s advice in his mind, he believes the move to Lyon offers the right platform at the right time.
