England’s newest Lioness Anouk Denton has completed a transfer to NWSL side Bay FC, with West Ham receiving a club-record fee for the defender.
Denton, who has recently broken into the England set-up, makes the move to the United States after coming through the ranks at West Ham and establishing herself with the Women’s Super League club.
Speaking after the deal was confirmed, Denton described the NWSL as the “most competitive league in the world” as she set out her excitement at starting a new chapter with Bay FC.
The switch also represents a landmark moment for West Ham, who have confirmed the fee is the biggest they have ever received for a player, underlining Denton’s value and the growing market for top WSL talent.
Denton now heads to California to link up with Bay FC, as she continues her club career in the NWSL while keeping her sights set on further opportunities with England.
