Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan said the national team’s recent results have been “good” when compared to the players’ market value, stressing that he hopes to see more Egyptians playing abroad.

Speaking in a televised interview, Hassan pointed out that Egypt’s performances should be judged in context, explaining that the squad’s value is not on the same level as many of the top national teams, yet the team has still managed to deliver positive outcomes.

Hassan added that increasing the number of professionals outside Egypt would help raise the overall level, improve competitiveness, and give the coaching staff more options.

The Egypt coach reiterated that his ambition is to build a stronger group over time, and that having more players gaining experience in tougher leagues would be an important step for the national team.
