Al Ahly midfielder Imam Ashour insists there are no longer any “weak” national teams in Africa, stressing that every match now comes with its own challenges and requires full focus.
Speaking in remarks shared by the club’s media, Ashour said: “There are no longer weak African national teams.” He explained that the level across the continent has improved and that winning has become about small details, discipline and commitment from the first minute to the last.
Ashour underlined that the dressing room understands what is needed at this stage, pointing out that players must be ready for any scenario and cannot rely on names or past results.
He also revealed a clear message he wants to send to the “number 1 player”, calling on him to keep pushing, stay humble and continue working because the team needs his best at all times.
Ashour added that the ambitions are big, but achieving them depends on hard work and a strong mindset, especially with the pressure that comes with representing a club like Al Ahly.
He ended by stressing that the coming period demands unity and maximum effort, as the margins are tight and every game can be decided by one moment.
