Liam Rosenior has confirmed he will become Chelsea’s new manager, describing the move as “an honour” after what he called the “best 18 months of my career” in charge of Strasbourg.
Rosenior admitted he is leaving the Ligue 1 club after a short but memorable spell in France, where he said he has grown both as a coach and a person. The Englishman made it clear the opportunity to lead Chelsea was one he could not turn down.
“It’s an honour,” Rosenior said as he confirmed his next job will be at Stamford Bridge, while reflecting warmly on his time at Strasbourg and the people he worked with during his 18-month stay.
Rosenior also spoke with pride about what was achieved at Strasbourg, insisting the period ranks as the best of his managerial career so far. He thanked the club for backing him and pointed to the relationships he built behind the scenes as a key part of why the experience meant so much.
The confirmation ends any uncertainty over Rosenior’s immediate future and marks the next step in his coaching career, with the 39-year-old now preparing to take charge at Chelsea after leaving Strasbourg.
