Oliver Glasner denies Man Utd manager links amid jokes

Oliver Glasner, wearing a black coat, looks thoughtfully upward beside the red and yellow Manchester United logo.

Oliver Glasner has moved to play down talk linking him with the Manchester United job, insisting he is focused on his work at Crystal Palace and joking that he cannot get involved in any “bets” on the situation.

The Palace boss has been mentioned as a possible option amid ongoing speculation over United’s managerial future, but Glasner suggested he has no interest in feeding the rumour mill. He said he had “insider information” on the matter, before adding: “I’m not allowed to bet!”

Glasner’s comments were delivered with a smile, but the message was clear: he is not looking to discuss a potential move and will not be drawn into public debate about the Old Trafford role while he remains in charge at Selhurst Park.

The Austrian, who took over at Palace earlier this year, has been working on implementing his ideas in the Premier League and has repeatedly stressed the importance of concentrating on performances and results rather than outside noise.

While Glasner did not offer any details beyond the joke and his brief response, his stance amounted to a denial of any immediate connection to the United vacancy talk, as he kept the focus on his current job and avoided giving the rumours further momentum.
