Pep Guardiola has admitted that one of Manchester City’s out-of-favour players could leave the club after the arrival of Antoine Semenyo.
Speaking after City moved to strengthen their attacking options with Semenyo, Guardiola was asked directly if the player in question might be on the way out. The City manager did not shut the door on a departure.
“I think so,” Guardiola said, acknowledging that an exit is possible as City weigh up their squad following the new signing.
Semenyo’s arrival has increased competition in forward areas and has also raised fresh questions over minutes for players who have struggled to feature regularly. Guardiola’s comments were the clearest indication yet that the club could allow the fringe star to move on if the right situation arises.
City have not confirmed any decision on the player’s future, but Guardiola’s brief response underlined that changes remain possible as the squad continues to evolve in the wake of Semenyo joining.
