Premier League sides are expected to ramp up their pursuit of Crystal Palace defender Marc Guéhi as the January window approaches, with several clubs monitoring his situation closely.
The England international has continued to impress at Selhurst Park and remains one of the most sought-after centre backs in the division. Guéhi has been a key figure for Palace for a number of seasons, and his calm defending and leadership have only added to the belief that he is ready for a step to a club competing at the top end of the table.
Palace, however, are not actively looking to sell midway through the campaign. The club value Guéhi highly and understand how difficult it would be to replace a defender of his level in January. Any deal would likely require a significant fee and terms that suit Palace, especially given his importance to their plans for the second half of the season.
Even so, interest is building. Clubs in need of a reliable, ball-playing centre back are thought to see Guéhi as a standout option, and the timing of the winter window could push decision-makers to act sooner rather than later. A move this month is not described as straightforward, but the growing attention suggests Palace may have to deal with offers or at least serious enquiries.
Guéhi’s situation is also shaped by the broader market. Top defenders are in short supply and often come at a premium, which plays into Palace’s hands if they are forced into talks. At the same time, teams with European aims are looking to strengthen immediately, and a proven Premier League performer is seen as less of a risk than a player arriving from abroad.
For now, Guéhi remains focused on Palace and continues to feature regularly, but the expectation is that his name will stay near the top of several recruitment lists throughout January. If a club decides to test Palace’s resolve with a major bid, Guéhi could become one of the most talked-about players of the window.
