French coach Hervé Renard compared Morocco head coach Walid Regragui to Didier Deschamps, saying Regragui “deserves a statue” for what he has achieved with the Atlas Lions.
Renard praised Regragui’s work and the impact he has made in a short time, pointing to the way Morocco performed under his leadership and the strong identity the team has shown on the pitch.
He added that what Regragui has done is similar to the respect Deschamps earned in France, stressing that successful coaches who bring pride to their country should be celebrated properly.
