Ronald Araujo has returned to Barcelona training after taking a break for mental health reasons, in a welcome lift for new head coach Hansi Flick as the club also received a double injury boost.
Barcelona confirmed that the Uruguay international was back with the group this week, having stepped away recently to focus on his wellbeing. Araujo’s return adds an important option in defence as Flick continues his early work with the squad.
The centre-back’s comeback to training was not the only piece of good news at Ciutat Esportiva. Barcelona were also handed a major boost on the injury front, with two players returning to full sessions after spells on the sidelines.
Flick has been managing a number of fitness issues during pre-season, making the improved availability timely as the club builds towards the new campaign. The German coach now has more depth to work with, with Araujo back in the fold and the injury list easing.
Barcelona have not set a separate timeline publicly, but the defender’s reintegration into training marks a positive step as preparation continues under Flick.
