Senegal demand equal treatment ahead of AFCON final

Senegal players in vibrant green kits celebrate on the pitch, showcasing team unity during a tense international match.

Senegal have demanded “equal treatment” and accused host nation Morocco of a lack of fair play ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations final.

The Senegalese camp said it had raised concerns over treatment and organisation before Sunday’s showpiece, insisting both finalists should be given the same conditions. Senegal argued that decisions and arrangements made so far have favoured the hosts and warned that the situation risks undermining the spirit of the tournament.

In statements from within the delegation, Senegal questioned what they described as unequal handling around logistics and match preparation, and called on organisers to ensure the final is managed in a transparent and neutral way.

The dispute has added tension ahead of the decisive match, with Senegal making clear they want guarantees that standards will be consistent for both teams and that Morocco will not benefit from being the host.
