South Africa has officially praised Morocco’s preparations to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025, in a clear contrast to the recent comments made by Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos.
The South African Football Association (SAFA) said it was satisfied with the organisation plan presented by Morocco, stressing that the tournament is expected to be staged under strong conditions and in stadiums that meet the required standards.
The statement came after Broos had faced criticism over his remarks about Morocco and the organisation of AFCON 2025, comments that sparked a wide reaction.
SAFA’s position was seen as a formal response that puts the focus back on preparations for the competition, while confirming confidence in Morocco’s ability to deliver a successful edition of the continental finals.
