Tanzania head coach Hemed “Morocco” Suleiman has warned that Morocco’s biggest strength could end up working against them, as the two sides prepare to meet in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Speaking in a video interview, Suleiman said Morocco’s quality and depth make them dangerous, but he stressed that the pressure that comes with being favourites can also become a burden. He explained that his players will try to use that situation to their advantage when the match arrives.
“Morocco have strong weapons and big names,” Suleiman said, noting that the North African side can hurt opponents in more than one way. But he added that the same attacking power can leave spaces, and that Tanzania will look to play with courage and discipline instead of fear.
The coach also underlined that Tanzania are not travelling to watch Morocco play, insisting his team wants a result and will compete with full belief. He pointed out that facing a top side requires focus in every moment, because one mistake can decide the game.
Suleiman’s comments came as the build-up continues for the AFCON qualifying clash, with Tanzania looking to make life difficult for a Morocco team expected to control the ball and dictate the tempo.
