Wrexham get cash injection from Reynolds and Mac ahead of deadline

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney flank the Wrexham FC club logo, highlighting their ownership and involvement in the club's revival.

Wrexham have been handed a major financial boost by co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney ahead of the January transfer deadline.

The club have confirmed a fresh cash injection from the Hollywood pair, with new shares issued as Reynolds and McElhenney continue to back Phil Parkinson’s push for another promotion.

The funding comes at a key point in the season, with Wrexham looking to strengthen their squad before the window shuts. Parkinson has already made it clear in recent weeks that the club are keen to add quality if the right deals become available.

Wrexham’s rise has gathered pace since the takeover in 2021, with the Welsh side winning promotion from the National League and then going up again from League Two last season. They are now chasing further progress in League One, and the latest investment underlines the owners’ intention to keep momentum going.

The renewed support from Reynolds and McElhenney also highlights the scale of the project at the Racecourse Ground, with the club balancing ambition on the pitch and growth off it. With the deadline approaching, the injection gives Wrexham extra room to act if a suitable opportunity appears before the window closes.
