Morocco head coach Walid Regragui has revealed he plans to face Cameroon using the same approach he relied on during the Qatar 2022 World Cup, as he continues to shape his squad for the next stage.
Regragui said the friendly against Cameroon will not be treated as a routine test, stressing that he prefers to prepare his team with the same identity that brought Morocco success in Qatar.
He explained that the plan is clear: keep the World Cup structure and spirit, while giving opportunities to identify the best options and maintain competition within the group.
The Morocco coach also highlighted that these matches are important for strengthening the team’s balance, especially in terms of organization and discipline, and for ensuring the players stay aligned with the national team’s style.
Regragui’s comments come as Morocco continue their preparations, with the Cameroon match seen as another key step in building on the foundations laid during the World Cup run.
