Cristiano Ronaldo turned to his Real Madrid past to hit back at Al Ahly fans during a heated moment in the Saudi Super Cup.
The Portuguese superstar, now playing for Al Nassr, found himself targeted by the Egyptian club’s supporters during the match. In response, Ronaldo gestured toward his four Champions League titles won with Real Madrid, a clear message aimed at silencing the crowd.
The incident took place in the first half of the game. Al Ahly fans directed chants and jeers at the 40-year-old forward, who reacted by raising four fingers — a reference to his four European Cup triumphs with the Spanish giants between 2014 and 2018.
Ronaldo’s gesture did not go unnoticed. Cameras captured the moment, and the footage quickly spread across social media platforms. The Al Nassr captain appeared unfazed by the provocation, using his decorated career as a response.
The match itself was a tightly contested affair. Al Ahly took an early lead through a well-worked goal in the 12th minute. Al Nassr responded before half-time, with Ronaldo playing a key role in the buildup. The game remained level until the final whistle, forcing extra time.
In the additional period, Al Ahly regained the advantage. Despite late pressure from Al Nassr, the Egyptian side held on to secure a 2-1 victory and advance in the competition.
After the final whistle, Ronaldo walked off the pitch without engaging further with the fans. His gesture, however, remained the talking point among supporters and pundits alike.
The Saudi Super Cup continues this week, with Al Ahly set to face the winner of the other semi-final. Al Nassr, meanwhile, will now turn their attention to the Saudi Pro League as they look to bounce back from the defeat.
