Cameroon legend aims to repeat 1988 achievement against Morocco

Smiling man wearing glasses and a white shirt, with a blue sweater draped over his shoulders, stands against a softly lit background.

Cameroon legend Roger Milla has said he hopes the Indomitable Lions can relive their famous 1988 milestone when they face Morocco.

We will try to repeat what we did in 1988 against Morocco,” Milla said, as Cameroon prepare for the upcoming clash.

Milla’s comments looked back to the meeting between the two sides at the 1988 Africa Cup of Nations, when Cameroon managed to get the job done against Morocco on their way to lifting the trophy.

The former striker stressed that games of this level are never simple, especially in African competition, where small details can decide the outcome.

Morocco have often been strong opponents in continental tournaments, and Milla made it clear Cameroon will need focus and discipline if they are to get the result they want.

Still, the Cameroon great sounded confident that the team’s spirit can carry them through, pointing to the country’s history and ability to rise in big moments.

Cameroon and Morocco now meet again with plenty at stake, and Milla has put the challenge in clear terms: repeat the achievement of 1988 and deliver another statement performance.
