BeIN Sports accused of double standards over Morocco remarks

BeIN Sports has come under fire again, with accusations of “double standards” after two separate incidents involving its on-air talent and comments linked to Morocco.

The debate started after a disciplinary decision against Moroccan broadcaster Jawad Bada following an issue related to Karl Toko Ekambi. The move was widely discussed on social media, especially after BeIN Sports was seen to act quickly in that case.

At the same time, criticism grew over the channel giving space to Hafid Derradji, with viewers accusing the commentator of using his platform to provoke Moroccans. Many felt the contrast between the two situations showed an unfair approach in the way BeIN Sports deals with similar controversies.

Online reactions pointed to what they described as conflicting standards: one presenter facing punishment, while another continued to appear without similar action despite repeated complaints from Moroccan fans.

The controversy has fuelled renewed calls for BeIN Sports to apply the same rules to everyone. For many supporters, the issue is not only about individual names, but about the principle of consistent decisions and respect for the audience across the region.
