Marcus Rashford has been told his Manchester United career is “over”, with former midfielder Paul Parker insisting there is no way back for the forward at Old Trafford.
Rashford is currently spending the season on loan at Barcelona, with the La Liga side holding an option to make the move permanent. However, Parker believes United should move on regardless of what decision is taken in Spain.
“He’s had his chances,” Parker said, making it clear he does not see a future for Rashford in a United shirt.
The ex-United defender argued that the England international has been given enough opportunities to prove himself and that a fresh start is now best for everyone involved. In Parker’s view, even if Barcelona decide against triggering their permanent transfer option, Rashford should not be brought back into the fold at Old Trafford.
The comments come as Rashford’s long-term situation remains uncertain, with Barcelona yet to confirm whether they will activate the clause to keep him beyond his current loan spell.
