Wrexham were left frustrated as Leicester City snatched a late point to deny the Red Dragons a win that would have moved them to the cusp of the Championship play-off places.
The visitors started brightly and carried a threat going forward, but Leicester grew into the contest and made Wrexham work without finding a clean way through in the opening stages.
Wrexham then took the lead and looked set to turn a strong performance into a statement result, with the breakthrough giving them control and putting them on course for a big three points in their push up the table.
Leicester responded after the break with more urgency, increasing the pressure as they searched for an equaliser and forced Wrexham deeper as the second half wore on.
Wrexham tried to see it out and had chances to put the game beyond reach, but they could not add a second goal and that opened the door for a late twist.
Leicester finally capitalised late on, grabbing an equaliser to salvage a draw and leave Wrexham ruing missed chances and the lost opportunity to take another step towards the play-off places.
The result meant Wrexham had to settle for a point, while Leicester ensured they avoided defeat with their late intervention.
