Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has fuelled fresh speculation around Bryan Mbeumo’s future after admitting the club could be open to a major sale this summer.
The Cameroon international has been one of Brentford’s standout performers and remains central to Frank’s plans, but his manager’s latest comments have been read as a sign that a big offer would be considered. In an interview, Frank suggested Brentford are not the kind of club that automatically shuts the door when elite teams come calling, especially if the player wants to take the next step and the numbers make sense.
Those remarks have quickly put Mbeumo back on the radar across Europe, with Barcelona and Real Madrid among the clubs now linked with a possible move. Both Spanish giants are believed to be monitoring the market for attackers who can play across the front line, and Mbeumo’s pace, direct running and end product have made him an attractive option.
Barcelona’s interest would fit their recent approach of looking for multi-purpose forwards who can cover more than one position. With finances still tight, the Catalan club are expected to be selective and creative in how they do business, but Mbeumo is viewed as a player who could add depth and energy to their attack.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, continue to keep an eye on emerging opportunities. The club have strengthened significantly in recent windows, yet they are always alert to players who can raise the level of the squad and offer different solutions in the final third. Mbeumo’s ability to operate wide or centrally, as well as his work rate without the ball, is the kind of profile that appeals in a high-demand system.
Brentford are under no immediate pressure to sell, and Frank has repeatedly highlighted how valuable Mbeumo is to the team. Even so, the clear message is that the club will listen if the right proposal arrives. With the summer window approaching, that stance is likely to invite further contact from top clubs—and could set up a rare head-to-head chase between Barcelona and Real Madrid for a Premier League attacker.
