Liverpool are weighing up a move for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo as they map out their summer plans, while Manchester United have been linked with a surprising raid on Chelsea for one of their forwards.
Liverpool consider Rodrygo approach
Rodrygo’s future in Madrid continues to attract attention, with Liverpool now being mentioned as a possible destination if the Brazil international becomes available. The 23-year-old remains a valued member of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, but the competition for attacking places at the Bernabéu is fierce and only set to increase.
Madrid’s forward line is packed with star names and emerging talents, which has fuelled talk that Rodrygo could be open to a new challenge with a club prepared to build around him. Liverpool are understood to be monitoring the situation closely and could look at a significant bid if there are signs Madrid would listen.
Any deal would be expensive and complicated. Rodrygo is under contract and has delivered in big moments for Madrid, making him far from an easy player to prise away. Still, Liverpool’s recruitment team are expected to explore top-end options out wide as they assess how to refresh the attack for next season.
Manchester United linked with Nkunku
Manchester United, meanwhile, have been credited with interest in Chelsea attacker Christopher Nkunku. United are expected to search for a forward this summer, and Nkunku’s name has emerged as one of several being discussed as the club look for more goals and better movement in the final third.
Nkunku has not enjoyed a smooth spell at Stamford Bridge, with injuries and a stop-start run of form limiting his impact since arriving in the Premier League. Even so, he remains highly rated for his versatility, able to play as a striker, a second forward, or off either side.
Chelsea’s stance is not entirely clear, but the club could face decisions on sales as they shape their squad and balance finances. United would likely prefer a deal that makes sense financially, particularly with other areas also needing attention.
More striker names in the mix
United’s search is expected to include a range of profiles, from natural No. 9s to flexible attackers who can share the scoring load. Nkunku’s situation at Chelsea will be watched closely, especially if he finishes the season outside the preferred starting XI.
For Liverpool, Rodrygo is the standout name in the latest round of rumours, but Madrid hold the cards. If the Spanish giants decide he is not untouchable, the Premier League could quickly become the most realistic landing spot for one of Europe’s most talented wide players.
