Lyon head coach Pierre Sage has warned Real Madrid loanee Endrick that he must learn from his sending-off after the teenager saw red in Ligue 1.
Endrick was dismissed in Lyon’s latest league outing, leaving his side to play with 10 men for the closing stages. The decision sparked frustration on the Lyon bench, but Sage insisted the incident has to become a lesson for the forward.
“Endrick needs to learn from this,” Sage said after the match, making it clear that the club expects better judgement from the Brazilian despite his obvious talent.
The coach added that discipline is non-negotiable and that moments like this can hurt the team. Sage’s message was aimed as much at protecting Endrick’s progress as it was at underlining standards at Lyon, with the youngster still adapting to the demands of French football while on loan from Real Madrid.
Endrick’s red card leaves Lyon forced to cope without him in the immediate aftermath, while the player now faces the consequences of the dismissal as Sage urges him to respond in the right way.
