Brazil is considering launching a bid to host the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup, a plan revealed in local reports as the country looks to bring another major international tournament to its stadiums.
The idea is still at an early stage and no official bid has been submitted, but the discussions underline Brazil’s ambition to position itself as a candidate for the expanded Club World Cup in the next cycle.
FIFA has not yet confirmed the host nation for the 2029 edition. The 2025 tournament will be staged in the United States and will be played in a new format with 32 teams, marking a major change in the competition’s structure.
With several modern venues already in place after recent international events, Brazil believes it has the infrastructure to meet FIFA’s requirements if the federation opens the process for 2029.
Any move would still depend on further consultations and on FIFA’s timetable for selecting the next host.
