Chelsea have offered a public show of support to Mykhailo Mudryk as he remains suspended, with the club sending a special message to the winger that has been seen as a hint over his future.

Mudryk, who has been absent while serving a suspension, was still included in Chelsea’s messaging as the club marked his birthday, posting a short tribute to the Ukraine international despite his ongoing situation.

The decision stood out because Raheem Sterling received no similar mention, with the England forward notably overlooked as Chelsea’s social media output left him out.

Chelsea’s contrasting approach to the two wide players has been noticed by supporters, with Mudryk’s inclusion viewed as a clear sign he remains in the club’s thinking even while unavailable.

There has been no fresh update on Mudryk’s suspension included in the message itself, but the fact revealed by Chelsea’s post is that the club have deliberately kept him in the spotlight publicly.

Sterling’s absence from the same type of acknowledgement, however, underlined a stark difference in how the club are choosing to present the pair at this stage.
