Flamengo president Rodolfo Landim has joked about the possibility of bringing Vinicius Junior back to the club from Real Madrid, following the capture of Lucas Paqueta.

Paqueta has returned to Flamengo, with the Brazilian side moving quickly to seal the deal and add another familiar face to their squad. The transfer has sparked fresh talk among supporters about other former stars who could one day make the same journey back to the Maracana.

Landim, speaking about Flamengo’s ability to attract major names, made it clear the club will always look to strengthen when the chance is there. But he also used the moment to make a playful comment about Vinicius, who left Flamengo for Madrid in 2018 and has since become one of the Spanish giants’ biggest players.

“Now we’re going to bring Vinicius Junior back,” Landim said, laughing, as he reacted to the excitement around Paqueta’s arrival.

The remark was not presented as any kind of confirmed move, but it showed the confidence Flamengo are carrying after securing Paqueta. Vinicius remains under contract at Real Madrid and is a key part of their plans, while Flamengo are focused on making the most of their latest addition.

For now, Paqueta is back in familiar colours and expected to play a central role as Flamengo push on with their season, while Landim’s light-hearted line has given supporters one more reason to dream about the next homecoming.
