Gyokeres and Isak called Premier League disappointments

Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak have been labelled two of the Premier League’s biggest “disappointments” following their big-money moves from Sweden to Arsenal and Liverpool.

The pair arrived in England with huge reputations and heavy price tags, but they have now been named among the signings that have failed to deliver what was expected. The criticism focuses on the gap between the excitement around their arrivals and what they have produced on the pitch since joining their new clubs.

Gyokeres’ switch to Arsenal was framed as a major statement of intent, with the striker backed to add goals and a different edge to the Gunners’ attack. However, he has not justified the hype that came with the move and has struggled to make the kind of impact many predicted.

Isak’s transfer to Liverpool was viewed in a similar light, with the Sweden forward expected to strengthen a frontline that has regularly demanded top-level finishing. Instead, he has also been placed in the “disappointments” bracket, with his return and influence falling short of what supporters and observers anticipated.

What is revealed is that both Sweden internationals are now being grouped together as underwhelming Premier League additions, despite the scale of their transfers and the high expectations that followed them to Arsenal and Liverpool.
