Moroccan journalist Najib Salmi has died, his family announced on Friday.
Salmi worked for years in the national media scene and was known for his commitment to sports journalism. He built a reputation for professionalism and for staying close to the field, whether through reporting, analysis or covering major events.
His death has been met with sadness across the profession, with colleagues and players paying tribute to a figure many considered one of the familiar voices of Moroccan sports coverage.
Funeral and burial arrangements were expected to be shared by the family.
