Senegal captain Kalidou Koulibaly has hailed Sadio Mane, saying the forward “carried Senegal’s history on his shoulders” and delivered for the country when it mattered most.
Koulibaly stressed that Mane’s impact went beyond goals and performances, pointing to the pressure that comes with leading a nation chasing major success. He said Mane accepted that responsibility and pushed the group through difficult moments.
In his comments, Koulibaly also highlighted the unity inside the Senegal squad, explaining that the team fought together and stayed focused on their target, with Mane setting the tone through his character and leadership.
The defender added that what Mane achieved will stay in Senegalese football history, describing him as a key figure who inspired his teammates and gave the country belief on the biggest stage.
