Man Utd urged to appoint Thomas Tuchel over Luis Enrique

Manchester United have been urged to look past Luis Enrique and move for Thomas Tuchel as their next manager.

Talk of a possible change at Old Trafford has again put a number of high-profile coaches in the frame, with Luis Enrique’s name continuing to be mentioned. The former Spain boss is currently in charge of England and has made it clear his priority is the World Cup, which has led to questions over whether he would even consider a club role at this stage.

That World Cup focus has been highlighted as a major reason United should look elsewhere, with the argument that the club need a coach ready to put all attention on the day-to-day demands of the Premier League and European football.

Tuchel, who has won major honours during spells with Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, has been put forward as the stronger option. The German’s record in knockout football and his reputation for improving teams quickly were pointed to as key factors in why he would suit the job.

United have been told that appointing a manager with Tuchel’s experience would give them a clearer direction, while Luis Enrique’s current international role means any approach would come with obvious complications.

For now, the message is simple: United should move decisively and target Tuchel, rather than waiting on a coach whose attention is set on the World Cup with England.
