Nigeria head coach Jose Peseiro has sent a clear warning to Egypt, saying his team’s Africa Cup of Nations dream is still unfinished and the ending “must be happy”.
Speaking after Nigeria’s latest win at the tournament, Peseiro stressed that the Super Eagles are not thinking about what they have already achieved, but about what still lies ahead.
“My dream has not come true yet,” he said, making it clear that Nigeria are targeting the trophy, not just a strong run.
The Portuguese coach added that his players are fully focused on the next challenge, with Egypt now firmly in their sights. He underlined that Nigeria will approach the game with confidence, believing the team has the quality and the mentality to go all the way.
Peseiro also pointed to the mindset inside the squad, insisting that the job is not complete. “The end has to be happy,” he said, framing the upcoming test as another step towards Nigeria’s main goal at AFCON.
Nigeria’s comments set the tone for a high-pressure showdown with Egypt, with Peseiro making it clear that his side are chasing more than just qualification or admiration.
