Noa Lang has accused Antonio Conte of treating him unfairly during their time together at Napoli, saying the pair “didn’t have a spark” before he was sent out on loan to Galatasaray.
Lang, who joined the Turkish side on a temporary deal, has now spoken openly about his relationship with Conte and the circumstances that led to his departure from Napoli.
“There wasn’t a spark with Antonio Conte,” Lang said, as he reflected on a spell he felt never truly got going under the Napoli boss. The winger also insisted he was “unfairly treated” before the decision was taken to let him leave on loan.
Lang’s comments are the clearest indication yet of a breakdown in understanding between player and coach, with the attacker suggesting he was not given the backing or chances he believed he deserved while Conte was in charge.
He is now focused on restarting his season at Galatasaray, having moved away from Naples in search of regular football and a fresh start.
