Senegal Football Federation (FSF) president Augustin Senghor has played down the threat of disciplinary sanctions linked to the incidents that took place during the AFCON final.

Speaking about the possible consequences, Senghor said he is not worried about any punishment, insisting the situation does not deserve to be treated as a major case. He stressed that what happened was being exaggerated and that Senegal’s position remains clear.

The Senegal FA chief added that the federation is ready to cooperate with any official process, but does not expect the matter to lead to heavy measures. He also pointed out that the key focus should stay on football, not on disciplinary files.

His comments came as attention continues to surround the disciplinary procedures connected to the AFCON final, with the Senegal federation awaiting the next steps from the relevant bodies.
