Saudi journalist Walid Al Farraj strongly criticised Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan for what he described as unacceptable conduct, saying it does not fit “the coach of a great country.”
Speaking in a televised segment, Al Farraj said Hassan’s behaviour crossed the line and should not come from a national team manager, stressing that the position demands calm, discipline and respect, especially when representing a country with Egypt’s football history.
Al Farraj added that what happened has put the spotlight on the Egypt coach at the wrong time, and that such scenes only create unnecessary tension around the national team instead of helping the players focus on their work.
He also questioned the message this kind of behaviour sends to the public, insisting that the standard must be higher for anyone leading a major national team.
Al Farraj’s comments came as a clear response to the recent incident involving Hossam Hassan, with the presenter repeating that “what you did does not suit the coach of a great country,” and calling for more professionalism from the Egypt boss going forward.
