West Ham defender Konstantinos Mavropanos was stretchered off after suffering a worrying head injury during the club’s FA Cup tie against QPR.
The centre-back went down after a heavy collision and required immediate treatment on the pitch. Medical staff quickly attended to Mavropanos, with players from both sides signalling for help as the game was stopped.
After several minutes of assessment, the Greece international was eventually placed on a stretcher and taken off the field, with the incident leaving those inside the stadium visibly concerned.
The match then resumed once the player had been escorted away for further checks.
