Barcelona president Joan Laporta has admitted he is “disappointed” by delays to the Camp Nou redevelopment, while outlining the club’s updated timeline for completing the stadium project.

Laporta said the club’s intention is to return to the revamped Camp Nou during the 2024-25 season, although work has not progressed as quickly as planned. The Barça chief explained that setbacks have affected the original schedule and acknowledged the frustration around the situation.

He also set out the expected completion window for the overall project, making clear that the final stages will take longer than first hoped because of the issues the club has faced on site.

Laporta’s comments come with Barcelona continuing to play their home matches away from Camp Nou while construction continues. The president maintained that the club remains focused on delivering the new stadium despite the delays and the challenges that have come with them.
