Manchester United have no plans to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford, despite fresh talk of a sensational third spell following reports of tension at Al-Nassr.
Ronaldo, 39, is currently under contract in Saudi Arabia, but speculation around his future has grown again amid suggestions of unrest. A release clause worth £44 million has now also emerged, adding another layer to the discussion over what could come next for the Portugal star.
However, United’s position is clear. The Premier League club are not considering a move to re-sign Ronaldo and are not working on any deal that would see him return.
Ronaldo previously enjoyed two spells at United, first establishing himself as one of the world’s best before later returning in 2021. That second stint ended with his departure in 2022, after which he joined Al-Nassr.
While the new £44m clause and the situation in Riyadh have sparked renewed headlines, United are not looking to revisit the past and are not expected to pursue a reunion.
